Epic Low - Raven

  • Cymatics + Magic Boots

Epic Grindshoes is a new branch of Powerslide family, which has reintroduced the idea of grinding shoes. The nostalgic movement from the 90s was warmly welcomed and met with a lot of interest. The idea started a phenomenon called the “freeslide” — a combination of “freerunning” and parkour in the urbanized architecture of the city.

By providing the market with stylish shoes of extraordinary features, Epic Grindshoes fills the gap, providing the product that can easily become an inseparable element of every skater's wardrobe.

Grinding with shoes may also be very helpful for all rollerblading beginners. As it often happens, complete newbie, without basic understanding of using inline skates, can get discouraged pretty fast when it comes to first attempts of jumping on a rail or a ledge. Keeping the balance while grinding may be quite difficult for somebody who still can't completely control his movements on inline skates. That is why training your tricks with grind shoes first, may greatly improve the experience and will help to overcome initial fear of locking on a rail.

Epic Grindshoes Low Raven are low-top sneakers with slightly reduced weight, valued impeccable quality and comfort. Light and flexible base with an integrated grind plate for easy trick performance on a rail as well as a ledge, while still maintaining the optimal feel during everyday use. The Low Raven models provide various lacing options while the low-cut itself offers ankles a lot of range of motion.

The upper shoe material is made of PU and suede leather together with another TPU coating and reinforcements for abrasive resistance. The weight of a single shoe in size EU 41 is just 450g. Epic Grindshoes products are true to size for sports footwear in the range of EU 37 — EU 48.

If you can't resist jumping on a curb or a rail while walking around the city, then Epic Grindshoes shoes are made just for you!

Epic Grindshoes is the latest project of the Powerslide brand. The idea for grinding shoes is not new - in the 90s the Soap Shoes brand was very successful commercially. Soap products could be seen often in TV commercials or video games, but similarly to aggressive skating, the Soap shoes boom ended as quickly as it began - mainly due to the lack of product availability on the wider market.

The ever-growing popularity of Parkour and Freerunning street acrobatics did not let Powerslide to forget about this phenomenon. Matthias Knoll, the charismatic owner of Powerslide, waited for the right moment to breathe "new life" into the project. And so, in 2019, the first work on Epic Grindshoes samples began - stylish sports shoes offering unlimited possibilities of playing in the urbanized architecture of the city. Oli Benet, known in the aggressive skating scene, joined the venture and became the main brand manager. An extraordinary team of Epic Grindshoes was created immediately and have been testing prototypes for nearly two years.

The experience and feedback of riders such as Nick Lomax, Eugen Enin, Montre Livingston or Air Dolphin allowed for the creation of the 'Sandwich sole' patent - the main part of Epic Grindshoes footwear. The progressive groove design provides an excellent rail lock while being very low. Also, the raised corners make grinds possible on curbs while maintaining a safe plate-to-ground distance to prevent the plate from touching on regular walking.

According to the originators, Epic Grindshoes will be a huge, completely new movement of people having fun in a way that we have unfortunately forgotten for the last decades. Team Epic Grindshoes can get really exciting, and this is just the beginning!
